Massimo Moratti criticised the third choice strip used by Inter this season. “I used to speak to Nike about it…”
The green, blue and yellow outfit was roundly mocked on social media after it was debuted in the 2-0 Europa League defeat to Hapoel Beer-Sheva, as people compared it to a Sprite can.
“It can happen that choices are made which are a bit different to what everyone else wants to do, but we were very careful in these matters,” former President Moratti told Corriere TV.

“It was up to me to choose the strip. I used to speak to Nike about it a couple of times during the year to reach a definitive solution that suited both my tastes and those of the fans.
“I honestly don’t understand the point of the third kit, as it’s a futile risk. Unfortunately hardly anyone ever likes them. Then they say green is bad luck… Let’s say it is a shirt a long way off the reference points of the Inter fan.
“Why has our season been so up and down? Maybe it’s the shirt!”
