Massimo Moratti feels tonight’s game with Bologna “is important for various reasons,” as Inter must win back the respect of their fans.

The Nerazzurri managed just one point from their last five matches and were lambasted by supporters after a 1-0 home defeat to Novara on Sunday.

“There is still time for third place, but this game is important for various reasons,” President Moratti told Sky Sport Italia before kick-off.

“We are playing in front of our fans, who have always supported and followed us with great focus and passion.

“We hope that this evening luck will be on our side. Is Claudio Ranieri under the spotlight? It’s fairly normal. Up until now he has proved to be a great professional, but football is a world that keeps everyone under pressure.”

Moratti was also asked about the fact Barcelona Coach Pep Guardiola was seen with an Inter scarf.

“That had nothing to do with me.”
