Multiple sources are confident Alvaro Morata is pushing for a move to Milan, but confusion remains over his Atletico Madrid release clause and there could be a twist.

Sky Sport Italia claim this evening that the striker has agreed personal terms, a contract worth €4m per season for four years, which is one more year than he currently has in Madrid.

However, the confusion continues over what Milan would have to pay in order to purchase Morata.

Italian experts maintain there is a release clause set at €12m including taxes, but the Spanish media insist it is far higher than that and closer to €20m.

Meanwhile, Milan transfer expert Daniele Longo has an update this evening that could turn the whole situation on its head.

He suggests Morata will be put on the backburner and considered an alternative option only, as the Rossoneri are now intent on going for a younger player whose value can be increased and then sold on at a profit.

This would fit more with the kind of approach they were trying to take for Marcus Thuram before he dropped them for Inter instead.
