Alvaro Morata was linked with Juventus, Milan, Roma and Al-Qadsiah, but today announced he is staying with Atletico Madrid.

The Spain international has impressed for his country at EURO 2024 and is now preparing to start the quarter-finals against hosts Germany.

He broke his silence today with an announcement via Instagram.

“I cannot imagine what it is like to win with this shirt and I’m not going to stop until I find out,” he wrote along with an image of himself clutching the Atletico Madrid jersey.

This comes just hours after multiple sources in Spain suggested that he was on the verge of signing a lucrative three-year contract with Saudi Pro League team Al-Qadsiah.

However, it also puts to an end the speculation over the last few months that the 31-year-old was angling for a return to Serie A.

Milan and Roma are known to be seeking at least one new striker, potentially more, while a return to Juventus was also mentioned as a possibility.

It would’ve been his third different stint in Turin following two previous loan spells.
