Morata: ‘Madrid return possible’

Juventus striker Alvaro Morata admits “the possibility that I return to Real Madrid is real”.

The Spanish international joined the Bianconeri from Los Merengues in 2014, but a buyback clause was included as part of the transfer.

The deal means that Madrid can buy Morata back either this summer or next, with the fee for this season set at €30m if he plays over 50 per cent of Juve’s games.

“I appreciate the words of [Emilio] Butragueño, where he said that I’m part of the Real Madrid family,” Morata told Marca.

“He’s a Spanish football legend, and when a legend speaks so well of you it’s inevitable that you’ll feel appreciated.

“I have to stay focused on the pitch, but obviously I think about the future and the possibility of me returning is real.

“I’m fine in Italy, and at Juventus I feel at home.

“Definitely in terms of the way they play the Premier League and the Bundesliga would be the countries where my style of play could produce more.

“I really like the Premier League, it’s very appealing for a striker and it’s much less tactical than Serie A.”
