The Spaniard was on the scoresheet during the Bianconeri’s impressive 2-1 win over Manchester City on Tuesday.

The result has re-energised an Old Lady squad that had started the league season poorly, picking up only one point in their first three matches.

“I’ll be the first to say I played badly against Chievo, but against City we all played together, fighting with the same determination we had last year,” Morata told Tuttosport.

“The truth is that we’re really strong in Europe.

“In Serie A you concede goals and the others close you down, in the Champions League there is more space and you can play.

“It was a mistake to think that Juventus were already dead.

“So many people don’t like Juventus, it’s normal after having won four Scudetti in a row. We’re calm and if we’re compact, we’re dangerous.

“Buffon helps us, he’s one of the best in the world and it’s impressive.”
