Juventus are missing Alvaro Morata more than ever, as the Spaniard scored a hat-trick to give Atletico Madrid a 4-0 victory in their rescheduled pre-season friendly, raising serious alarm bells for Max Allegri.

The game was originally meant to be played in Tel Aviv, but moved to the Continassa training centre in Turin following unrest in Israel.

Moise Kean was left in the stands due to disciplinary reasons, having turned up late, with Paul Pogba, Federico Chiesa, Luca Pellegrini and Weston McKennie injured.

It took just 10 minutes for Morata to make his mark against the club that is still negotiating to bring him back for a third stint, beating Wojciech Szczesny one-on-one when sent through by Joao Felix.

Szczesny kept the scoreline down with saves on Koke from close range and a Joao Felix penalty, awarded for Alex Sandro’s comical handball.

However, Morata made it 2-0 before the break by shaking off Leonardo Bonucci and dummying Gleison Bremer.

Lemar thought at first he would be credited with the third goal on the hour mark, but Morata got a slight touch with his head to the free kick to put Mattia Perin off.

Adrien Rabiot’s game didn’t last long, as he went off after a clash of heads with teammate Bremer. The second half was certainly an improvement, but largely because Atleti sat on their lead and allowed Juve sterile possession.

In fact, Matheus Cunha added a fourth late on when Kondogbia’s wayward attempted shot turned into an accidental assist for him at the back post.

Juventus 0-4 Atletico Madrid

  1. Don’t mind me, I am just reserving my seat and popcorns, waiting for the inevitable comebacks from Inter fans who was mocked by Juve fans because they conceded 4 to Villareal yesterday.

  2. No kean, No party. Vlahovic still has the terrible first touch.
Based on preseason form, Milan will easily win the title this season.

  3. @Muto: Not necessarily. Pre-seasons don’t mean much. I think Man U did well on their pre seasons only to succumb home game lost on day 1 lol.

However, I hope you’re still ended up being right about Milan retaining the Scudetto 😉

  4. @Steve
Expect something likes this from him
Allegri : Although we got smashed like an ant under rhino’s feet but there were positive points to observe like always.

  5. Spanked. We are a mediocre team now, whose goal should barely be a top-4 in Italy or maybe a Scudetto. Should be content with that. Let our best player walk away for free.

  6. Pre seasons prove if you are good or not, and they are all not that good. Morata would play well for his Spanish side, sometimes I think Brazilian italians and Spanish players don’t want to play for Italy and it shows and maybe ditch them in future as a possible threat to the game. Just build up Italian youth based players, I bet Serie B has loads of hidden talent in it more than Serie A. They might need one or two Foreign strikers the rest should be Italian, makes no difference Italian sides have not won in 11 years in top flight European competitions and missed two world cups in a row. Scamacca tasted his first defeat in England and I doubt he would get many goals, and may see him back in Italy again like Kean and other who could not adapt to it.

  7. Roma and Milan maybe the only sides in Italy that are good this year and Milan completely failed the Champions League. Inter, Juventus and Napoli are all to be thrashed by in their groups, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Liverpool are waiting for more revenge pie, even though they have two slices already and are ready to finish it off even more.

  8. Morata has used up 3 of his 9 goals this season. May he use the rest wisely. Juve have a lot of work to do but even this team will win the league. Not enough to do much in the CL though.

  9. I watched this whole game live, and juve barely did anything, ball literally stayed in our half, 3+4th goals wre pathetic

  10. Juventus are not missing Morata. Alavaro is simply playing for a proper team right now and that’s why he performs well. He will be back to being useless if he returns to the circus that Juventus currently are.

  11. @Flavio
Any fair man would know that whoever defending Mad Max is on kool-aid not us who want him to leave this club.
And I’m sure at least 80% of Juve fans agree with me. So check other people’s comments before accuse us of being drunk, lol .

  12. Training match….
    What’s the fuzz???
Give Allegri 10 matches in Serie A and then we can judge him.

  13. Bad left backs! Bad right backs! Too many useless central midfielders!

No attacking midfielders! Only one old winger and the other is injured…no replacements! No center forward replacement!!!

Allegri should be sack! Sport director and Nedved should be sack!!

  14. @Many wise guys
    You’re not wise
we gave Allegri 38 Serie A matches last season plus bunch of UCL and Coppa Italia and this team never changed. What are you thinking ? Allegri simps are everywhere
    gosh

  15. Conti betrays Italian football, missed the world cup in 2018 because he had to take the money with Chelsea and then lost 31 million in some money scam scandal and Italian football missed 200 million in profits for missing the world cup. Italian football is ironic, if you sell someone like Salah to Liverpool he will come back and haunt you like he did against Roma and now forever haunts Italian teams in Europe. They sell Morata and he comes back and haunts Juventus. Italy is full of ironic bad luck, they sell their best and themselves to our adversaries and they will knock you out of the game. PSG bought all the best Serie A players and continue to do so and Italian sides can not compete with them ever in the last 10 years. We sold Zola to England and he helped knock out Vicenza in Cup winners Cup semi final. They sell Ronaldo to Man United and Atalanta lose to his last minute performances, the list of ironic haunts goes on.

  16. I’m suprised to see all the negative comments about today’s game. While I disagree with Allegris tactics , it’s a game that’s not worth anything guys. Put yourself in the coaches shoes before this game. With all the injuries we currently been having would you tell your players to play all out????? Think about it.

  17. Kopuk
Bremer did well last season under ivan juric. Allegri didnt know how to use players except ruined them
