Alvaro Morata is only a step away from joining Barcelona but Juventus still need to find a replacement before they give the green light to the deal.

The 29-year-old Spaniard has already agreed personal terms with the Blaugrana and he’s incredibly keen for the move, with it being clear now that the Bianconeri have no intention of activating the buy option attached to his loan deal.

As reported by AS, Morata’s move to Barcelona is 95% done and only a few details remain before he signs for the club, but Juventus aren’t willing to give the green light to the deal until they secure a replacement for the Spanish forward.

An agreement with the Bianconeri has already been reached regarding a six-month loan deal, as well as an agreement with Atletico Madrid regarding a future buy option, but the Turin side won’t let him leave until a replacement is fully lined up.

Barcelona coach Xavi is confident that he’ll be able to count on Morata for the Spanish Super Cup match against Real Madrid on January 12, but the final details cannot be ignored yet.

  1. Get rid! Think how funny this would be – Juve went from Ronaldo to Morata and Barca from Messi to Morata. He’s the replacement for phenomenal players that no-one wanted.

  3. Madrid, Juventus, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid now Barcelona. How fortunate!

So much potential yet never fully getting to the hight of great strikers.
