“The world of football is full of prejudice and homophobia,” she told Corriere della Sera. “I don’t blame anyone who doesn’t come out.
“For many men not doing so, it’s a form of protection. I think it’s right to do it when you are ready, when you are sure to be able to remove the mask and never put it back on.
“There are moments in life when certain things become natural and necessary. Then, one day, words are born with new spontaneity to give courage to those who don’t have it.”
