These Monza vs. Udinese predictions see the Serie A newcomers looking for their first win. The Zebrette have done little better this season, although secured a draw against Salernitana last weekend.

Monza vs. Udinese odds

1 – A draw at full-time – 28/11

2 – Both teams to score – 7/10

3– Over 2.5 goals scored – 13/15

4 – Beto to score anytime – 18/5

5 – Monza to score a penalty – 5/1

Udinese travel to Monza for the first Friday evening Serie A fixture of the campaign. Neither side has managed to secure a win in the first two rounds with this fixture potentially looking like an early-season relegation six-pointer.

Despite the poor start to the season there is a positive attitude around the Stadio Brianteo. Monza’s promotion to Serie A for the first time this season marks rapid progress following Sivio Berlusconi’s purchase of the club in 2018. An impressive recruitment campaign over the summer which oversaw a near full starting XI overhaul has fans optimistic of a positive season.

Udinese have not seen the mass recruitment of their Friday opponents. That having been said, the Zebrette have done well to retain key plays such as Nehuen Perez whilst Destiny Udogie returns on-loan following a big-money sale to Tottenham.

Friday’s clash at the Stadio Brianteo should see two relatively evenly matched teams come face-to-face. As a result, we would back the points to be evenly matched with a draw at full-time.

The two teams had limited attacking success in their last match, with neither managing to score. That having been said, the opening game of the season saw more offensive success and the two teams offer entertaining attacking partnerships.

Gerard Deulofeu and Beto formed a lethal, if inconsistent partnership last season and are waiting to catch fire. Likewise, Monza’s attacking duo of Andrea Petagna and Gianluca Caprari have plenty to offer. As a result, a wager on other 2.5 goals scored on Friday, or on both teams to score could well pay off.

Andrea Sottil has opted against starting Beto for Udinese’s opening two fixtures, opting instead for Isaac Success. However, following the Zebrette’s stalemate last weekend, the Brazilian should get a start on Friday and we back Beto to bag against Monzo.

Should neither side succeed in breaking the deadlock themselves it would be no surprise to see a spot-kick decide the result. Udinese saw an error in the box result in a penalty conceded against Milan and there are good odds of one being scored at the Brianteo on Friday.

Nehuen Perez’s red card against Salernitana means the Argentinian is suspended for Friday’s game. Soppy is expected to fill in whilst Jaka Bijol is a doubt at centre-back having suffered a suspected concussion last weekend.
