These two sides both recorded impressive draws against strong opponents last weekend and these Monza vs. Bologna predictions suggest another close game on Thursday.

Monza vs. Bologna odds

1 – A draw – 23/10

2 – Under 2.5 goals scored – 4/5

3 – Both teams to score – 3/4

4 – Joshua Zirkzee to score anytime – 13/5

5 – A draw and both teams to score – 7/2

Both these clubs have endured inconsistent starts to the new campaign but were able to record morale-boosting draws at the weekend. Monza heaped more misery on Maurizio Sarri, as they were able to grind out a point against Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Biancorossi may well have been able to claim a shock win in Rome and will now go into this fixture with a little more confidence. After the huge achievement of staying up last season, Raffaele Palladino will know that the task will be just as difficult this year.

Getting something out of this game is possible for the home side though. There are injuries to deal with – and Monza need to find more goals from somewhere –  but another positive result could be on the cards.

Bologna’s result at the weekend may be even more impressive. The Rossoblu raised the ire of Napoli’s fans – and star player – by managing to claim a goalless draw at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara. A missed penalty from Victor Osimhen 20 minutes from time seemed to sum up the frustration of the reigning champions.

Although Bologna haven’t really got going this season, the fixture list has not been particularly kind to Thiago Motta’s side. They have played Milan, Juventus, and Napoli in the opening weeks – but have only actually lost to the Rossoneri. So they will come into this one with a lot of belief too.

Neither side have troubled the goal-scoring charts too much this season so there is the possibility of them playing out a low-scoring draw on Thursday. Joshua Zirkzee seems to have taken his chance to replace Marko Arnautović in the Bologna line-up after the Austrian’s loan move to Inter – and the Dutchman could be the one to find the net for the visitors.

Monza team news

Raffaele Palladino seems to be trying a few different things with his forward line in an attempt to score some goals this season. But he will likely be without Gianluca Caprari for this one, with Lorenzo Colombo set to lead the line.

Bologna team news

Thiago Motta may look to change around his starting line-up for this one in a bid to rest some players in the squad. Ricardo Orsolini and Alexi Saelemaekers could both start, with a similarly restructured defensive line because of a number of injuries.
