Monza have registered an ‘expression of interest’ in taking struggling Milan forward Charles De Ketelaere on loan next season despite the Belgian having failed to find the net for the Rossoneri since his arrival from Club Brugge in the summer.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Monza are seriously interested in the possibility of bringing the 22-year-old in for next season, although no official negotiations have yet taken place.

For many reasons, Milan and Monza are said to have an excellent working relationship and La Gazzetta explains how Milan could welcome back an entirely different player altogether in the summer of 2024 if they were to allow De Ketelaere to spend next season on loan.

However, allowing CDK to leave on loan after just one season could paint the picture that Milan are admitting defeat on one of their most significant investments in recent years, given that he cost the club €35m less than a year ago.

For the time being, De Ketelaere remains in Stefano Pioli’s plans and the Rossoneri have every intention of keeping him at the club heading into next season, but as written in Gazzetta, opinions and stances can change between now and August.

The situation with De Ketelaere could also depend on Brahim Diaz’s future at San Siro. If the Rossoneri are able to negotiate a deal with Real Madrid to keep the Spaniard on, then the possibility of sending De Ketelaere out on loan becomes more realistic.
