Monza are seriously interested in making a mid-season move for Pol Lirola and have opened talks with Olympique Marseille, reports detail.
The 25-year-old Spanish right back is no stranger to Serie A, initially arriving at Juventus Primavera squad in January 2015 before spending time with Sassuolo and Fiorentina. Lirola was sold to Marseille in August 2021 after a positive six-month loan spell, but after just one year was sent to Elche on loan.
As reported by Calciomercato.com, Monza are keen to make a move for Lirola this month and have approached Marseille to discuss a deal. Elche are willing to cut the Spaniard’s loan spell early, making this deal possible for the Serie A side.
Monza are hoping to snap up the 25-year-old right back on a loan deal with a buy option attached, but may face trouble as the Ligue 1 side are pushing for an outright sale. Negotiations are ongoing and it may only be a matter of time before Lirola returns to Italy.
