Marlon Sassuolo Milan Rafael Leao

Serie A newcomers Monza continue to work on the transfer market, bringing in Marlon on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk and talking with Lazio for Francesco Acerbi.

This will be their first ever top flight campaign, but run by former Milan moguls Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani, Monza are probably the most active club in Italy this summer.

According to Sportitalia, a deal has been done to sign defender Marlon on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk and he will be in Italy for a medical on Wednesday.

It is a return to Serie A for the 26-year-old, who joined Shakhtar in July 2021 from Sassuolo in a move worth €12m.

Naturally, his career has shifted following the Russian invasion of Ukraine and consequent effects on the football tournament.

Meanwhile, Sportitalia also maintain that Monza director Galliani is in negotiations with Lazio chief Claudio Lotito to discuss a possible transfer for Acerbi.

Also linked with Milan, the centre-back is looking for an exit after his rapport with the Biancocelesti ultras collapsed completely.

  1. Monza doing pretty well. Cragno, Ranocchia, Marlon, Pessina, Sensi..

If they get Acerbi and Suarez too then an amazing window.
