Riccardo Montolivo has announced his retirement from professional football, blaming Milan for his decision.
Montolivo has been without a club since leaving Milan over the summer, and he aimed a parting shot at the Rossoneri, claiming they made him fall out of love with football.
“I’ll stop playing now,” the former Italy midfielder told Corriere dello Sport.
“I will continue to live in Milan with my family. What I’ll do now, I don’t know. I have to think about it.

“You could say [Milan] forced me to stop playing. I didn’t even get the chance to say goodbye to the fans after seven years.”
The 34-year-old calls it a day after 348 games and 25 goals in Serie A for Atalanta, Fiorentina and the Diavolo.
He played 66 times for Italy, helping them reach the Final of Euro 2012, but failed to make a single appearance at San Siro last season.
