Following an indifferent start to the season, the director and Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic had some harsh words for the players at Milanello on Tuesday.

“The club are right to intervene when they think the team needs some stimulus,” Montolivo told Premium Sport.

“We agree with what the club and the Coach have said, because we must do more. We need a lasting change to this trend, that’s the only way we can achieve our goals.

“Both when we win and when we lose we’re making naive mistakes, and that needs to be resolved.”

Sunday sees Napoli visit San Paolo, and Montolivo is expecting an open and exciting contest.

“Sunday will be an open game, they’re strong up-front, but could suffer at the back. It’s clear that whoever wins will have the best balance on the pitch.”
