Milan captain Riccardo Montolivo assures he and his teammates “gave everything for the shirt” with Bologna.

The Rossoneri lost at home to Roberto Donadoni’s side on Wednesday, heaping the pressure on Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic.

“I know the Coach well, and he doesn’t give up under pressure,” Montolivo said in a Press conference ahead of tomorrow’s Roma game.

“I’m not worried. We wanted to win [against Bologna] so the team has failed. We gave everything for the shirt, playing fairly too.

“I’m not worried. We wanted to win [against Bologna] so the team has failed. We gave everything for the shirt, playing fairly too.

“If we play like that, we won’t lost nine times out of 10. We tried to win until the end. We have to pick ourselves up.”

Montolivo also adressed rumours of disharmony in the squad, after Alex appeared to refuse to salute the fans, and the captain shouted at Mattia De Sciglio.

“At the end of the game, we’re used to going under the Curva. I asked Alex, [Carlos] Bacca, and Luiz Adriano to come under the Curva before going back to the dressing room.

“Alex went back immediately because he wasn’t well, and in fact he won’t be involved tomorrow, and the other two followed me.

“I’m sorry that a conspiracy arose out of this episode, and also what happened after the Bologna goal between me and De Sciglio, who by the way wasn’t to blame for the goal.

“I’m not in the habit of getting angry and taking it out on my teammates. In regard to these incidents, I think there’s a bit of bad faith from some people toward me and the team.”
