Riccardo Montolivo insists “Milan deserved to win” the derby after a 1-0 defeat to city rivals Inter.
Fredy Guarin decided the match with a scorcher from distance, while the Rossoneri hit the woodwork with Mario Balotelli.
“If there was one team that deserved to win tonight considering the chances created, it was Milan,” Montolivo told Mediaset Premium.

“If there was one team that deserved to win tonight considering the chances created, it was Milan,” Montolivo told Mediaset Premium.
“It was a balanced encounter, so we are left disappointed and have regrets, but at the same time gain confidence for the future.
“Too often we tried to push the moves forward and were too frenetic. When both teams force it, they get stretched out and this is certainly something we have to improve.”
Montolivo made his first appearance in Serie A for seven months and impressed in midfield.
He was also asked about teammate Balotelli, who came on as a substitute for his ‘debut.’
“This is the Mario we’d all like to see all of the time. We should give him some time to settle before making judgments. We’ll see where we are at Christmas.”
