Former Milan midfielder Riccardo Montolivo praised the Rossoneri after the 3-2 win over Atalanta. ‘They are truly a great team’.

The former Rossonero pointed at the ‘lowest point’ when the team lost 5-0 in Bergamo against the Orobici.

Milan have since bounced back under coach Stefano Pioli, who has lifted the club back to the Champions League by fighting at the top in Serie A.

Another big win against Atalanta provided a positive feeling ahead of the international break and Montolivo praised everyone involved.

“We must congratulate everyone,” he told DAZN. “The club, the players and the coach.

“Milan reached the lowest point with the 5-0-defeat in Bergamo, today they are touching the highest one in terms of mentality and for the ability to manage the games.

“Milan are truly a great team.”

The former Italy international is still not sure if Milan will go all the way in the championship, and believes Inter are still the team to beat.

“Inter have the biggest depth and the awareness of those who have already won,” he said. “But Milan and Napoli are close.”
