Uruguayan Montero, who wore the No 4 shirt in Turin, is remaining hopeful that his beloved Old Lady can triumph.

“Juventus have been excellent,” the former centre-back told Tuttosport. “I see an aggressive and determined side.

“Boss Antonio Conte is a good Coach and Juventus must believe they can fight back,” he continued.

“They can recuperate four points in 11 games and Milan will also have the derby against Inter to think about…”

Montero, an ex-teammate of Conte in Turin, won four Scudetti with the club. He was also part of the 2004-05 squad which had their title taken away following the Calciopoli sporting trial.
