Montella told to stay Viola

Vincenzo Montella would be wrong to bring an end to his Fiorentina stint after just 12 months in the job, says Emiliano Mondonico.

Vincenzo Montella would be wrong to bring an end to his Fiorentina stint after just 12 months in the job, says Emiliano Mondonico.

L’Aeroplanino is one of the most promising tacticians in the land after impressive spells at Roma, Catania and now the Viola.

“I think that Montella would want to have at least one more season at Fiorentina,” Mondonico, a former Viola, Atalanta and Torino boss, stated.

“It would help him to gain more experience, but also help him to understand what this club is capable of doing. If I was in his shoes then I certainly would not want to leave.

“This is an important opportunity for him to learn how to deal with certain situations, whether the side do well or even if things take a turn for the worse.”

Montella, just 38, has got Fiorentina playing one of the most entertaining brands of football in the Italian top flight and they are currently in fourth place.
