Former Roma striker Vincenzo Montella congratulated Edin Dzeko on matching his tally of goals for the Giallorossi. “Welcome to the family!”

Dzeko scored the third goal in Roma’s 4-0 win over Lecce yesterday to score his 102nd goal for the club, and in the process matching Montella’s tally.

Montella played for the Giallorossi from 1999 to 2009, via loan spells with Sampdoria and Fulham.

The former Roma No 9 took to social media to salute Dzeko on his achievement.

Montella reached 102 goals after 258 appearances for Roma, whilst Dzeko equalled the tally in only 210 games.

Montella scored 13 times in 2000-01 season as Roma won the Scudetto, their last league title.
