“Milan played well and after an initial 20 minutes of tactical stalemate, we emerged and could’ve gone in front with that penalty. It’s a pity that we lost, because we did not deserve this result,” the Coach told Mediaset Premium.
“We are on the right track and competitive. It’s a shame for the lads, because they have belief in what they are doing. With a victory in the next game, we’ll have one foot in the Europa League.
“Roma were luckier this evening and nobody has been able to dominate us. We just lack a bit of experience and tonight Roma won thanks to an incident.
“Evidently Niang needs to work on a few things… If he didn’t feel up to taking the penalty, he would’ve given it to Lapadula. It’s a shame for M’Baye.
“Who will take the next penalty? We’ll see. We really missed Juraj Kucka today, as he has different characteristics to Mario Pasalic and Manuel Locatelli.
“Our objective is to qualify for the Europa League. We’ve been out of Europe for two or three years, so we have to consolidate our current position.”
