Montella hails Viola talents

Vincenzo Montella praised Joaquin and Marko Bakic after Fiorentina’s 3-0 win over Pandurii.

“We changed several players because we used up so much nervous energy against Juventus on Sunday,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“Bakic had a rough start, as he was a bit tense, but he played very well in front of the defence. By the end of the match he was running the midfield. He is fortunate enough to be able to grow up here with us, though it’ll take time for him to reach peak form.”

Joaquin scored against Juventus in the 4-2 win and found the net again tonight with a stunning solo effort in the Europa League.

“Joaquin put in a great performance. He has exceptional quality, but is finally finding the right level of consistency.

“We took a while to understand each other, but now he has settled into the squad and understands all my directives. He just needed a few more weeks compared to the others to find his form.

“As for Borja Valero, like many Spaniards he trains during the game and jogs in training. He never stops on the pitch.”
