Vincenzo Montella complimented Torino on their comeback, but criticised Fiorentina for throwing away a 3-0 lead before their 4-3 victory.
The Viola had been comfortably in front on home turf, but were pegged back to 3-3 and only a late Romulo strike sealed the win.
“The team played with character. Torino put in a great performance, as they came back from 3-0 down and could’ve scored the fourth, but we countered that reaction with one of our own,” said the Coach.
“Compliments to Toro and a slap on the back of the head for us. I feared we could lose this game, but I wanted to win it.
“Torino scored some great goals, moved the ball around neatly and surprised us. We got a little scared after a while and, despite the fact these are experienced players, it can still happen. Fortunately we reacted.”
Fiorentina have temporarily closed to within a point of third place, as this evening Milan visit Juventus.
However, Montella assured he is not going to watch that game.
