Vincenzo Montella again identified inexperience as the problem with Fiorentina after their defeat to Genoa. “We keep losing our shape.”
The Viola suffered their second consecutive defeat, but again it was a very tight result after their 4-3 loss with Napoli, as Federico Chiesa hit the woodwork in stoppages for tonight’s 2-1 upset in Genoa.
“It’s a difficult fixture list, but we mustn’t look at it,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“It’s a difficult fixture list, but we mustn’t look at it,” said the Coach in his Press conference.
“We started better than Genoa, but didn’t make the most of our chances and then the team lost confidence. You can expect that when you have so many players in their first Serie A experience.
“After the break, we tried to get things back on track and were far more effective going forward, so we would’ve equalised with a bit of luck.
“It’s disappointing to lose, obviously. We must work on keeping balance throughout matches, as once again we got stretched out and lost our shape.”
Fiorentina are on zero points and their next match after the break for international duty is against leaders Juventus.
“We certainly won’t lack motivation and passion from the fans. Who knows, it might be the right opportunity to start getting off the mark.”
