Milan boss Vincenzo Montella will try out Jose Sosa in a deep-lying midfield role against Bournemouth on Saturday and believes the Argentine has what it takes.

Fellow new boys Mario Pasalic, Leonel Vangioni and Gianluca Lapadula are also expected to feature in the friendly, which has been designed for Milan’s players not representing their country during the international break, and Montella says he is keen to experiment.

“There’s only a few of us and there will be some experiments that will not make things easier for the players,” the Coach told Premium Sport.

“[Sosa] intrigues me [as a regista], we’re working on it and we’ll try him out there today.

“I believe he can [play there] thanks to his characteristics, but he must have a bit of practice [in the role] and work in the context of a match, which is different to training.”
