Vincenzo Montella has told his Fiorentina side that perfection will be needed should they want to beat Juventus.
The two teams meet in Turin on Saturday evening and the tactician knows what will await his Viola outfit.
“We have prepared well for the game and we’ll need to be perfect,” the former Roma and Catania Coach noted.
“We have to be alert because Juve are a side who will also tire you mentally,” he continued.
“Antonio Conte has created a Juventus side with great mentality. He’s certainly the Coach who has won more over the last two seasons.”
Fiorentina and Juventus are historic enemies, but Montella is eager for things to not get out of hand in Turin.
“It’s true that the rivalry between Juventus and Fiorentina, also at management level, has intensified, but we have to keep that within the context of a sporting rivalry.
“We must transform that into positive energy and not arrogance.”
The tie will also see some key battles such as David Pizarro versus Andrea Pirlo, as well as Stevan Jovetic against Montenegro teammate Mirko Vucinic.
“Pirlo and Pizarro won’t play alone, but a lot will depend on what they can invent,” continued the ex-striker.
“I hope that Stevan is more decisive on Saturday than Mirko. They are similar players, they can play in tight spaces, even if Jovetic perhaps has more goals in his blood.”
