Sevilla sporting director Ramón Rodríguez confirms interest in Milan’s Adil Rami, but admits ‘it’s not easy’.

The director, commonly known as Monchi, admitted an interest in the French defender who has admitted he wants Champions League football.

“It’s not an easy deal,” the director said in a Press conference.

“He plays for a big club like Milan, and other teams want him, but it’s our ambition to bring the player here.

“Like any other business, we can’t wait forever. It’s up to Sevilla to dictate the timing.”

Monchi also confirmed that if Roma or any other club wish to sign Carlos Bacca, they’ll have to pay the €30m release clause.

“We haven’t received any formal offers, and we’re not willing to negotiate on price. There aren’t many world class players on the market, and Bacca has an average of 24.5 goals a season over the past two years.

“Maybe no club will be willing to pay the clause. The player signed a new contract 10 months ago, but I can’t predict the future.”
