The Giallorossi have had a difficult start to the season, but Monchi publicly backed Coach Eusebio Di Francesco yesterday.

"Unfortunately I have talked about this too many times: the position of the club has not changed and our confidence is the same,” the Spaniard told the club’s official website.

“When I have belief in a professional I do not easily change my mind. I am a bit confused when I read things about the directors: that there is a war between us, that I want to walk away, that I’m getting angry. Here we have 100 per cent belief in the Coach.

“It is the same coach who finished third last season and took us to the Champions League semi-finals – nothing has changed. Sometimes the responsibility falls on all of us, not just one person: we can’t put everything on the coach.”

According to Il Tempo, Monchi will fly out to Boston on Monday along with director Guido Fienga and and chief revenue offer Francesco Calvo.

The meeting will be a general discussion on the situation of the club, and is not being held to discuss Di Francesco’s future.

CEO Mauro Baldissoni will not be present, as he will remain in Italy to try and work out complications with the proposed Stadio della Roma.
