Monaco director Oleg Petrov insists they are “no longer negotiating” with Milan for Andre Silva, but denied it was a medical issue.

The transfer had been practically sealed when the Portugal international flew over for a medical, but suddenly the entire deal collapsed.

It had been reported this was due to an on-going tendon issue and that Monaco had requested a discount in order to complete the transfer.

The transfer had been practically sealed when the Portugal international flew over for a medical, but suddenly the entire deal collapsed.

It had been reported this was due to an on-going tendon issue and that Monaco had requested a discount in order to complete the transfer.

“The move did not happen because of financial disagreements between the two clubs,” Monaco director general Petrov told the AFP news agency today.

“It had nothing to do with an injury. We are currently not in negotiations with them, as we are looking at other options.”

There had been multiple reports in Italy that agent Jorge Mendes was working to reboot the Monaco move for Andre Silva.
