“In the first leg they did well, so Monaco still have it all to play for. Juventus have a slight advantage, the game is winnable but it will take a great Monaco performance.

“Juventus are an Italian team, but they can be put under pressure, even if they have more experience.”

Deschamps is currently CT of the French national team, and also spoke briefly about Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.

“He’s 22-years-old, so he still has some improving to do. He could score more goals and improve on the defensive side of things, he’s very good, but as someone who follows him, fortunately he still has room for improvement.

“He’s French, so I’m happy. When you see how he plays, he needs to be more aggressive. Technique aside, there are some areas where he needs to improve without losing his quality.

“He plays for a big club, and if he leaves he’ll go to another great club, all the big teams are interested in Pogba.

“The big clubs are interested in him, so we’ll see what happens, but he’ll have to ensure he’s a starter.”
