Former Juventus director Luciano Moggi was impressed by Napoli’s work on and off the pitch, believing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was worth more than 10 times what the Partenopei paid.

Aurelio De Laurentiis’ club picked up the 21-year-old Georgian winger from Dinamo Batumi in the summer for just €10m, hoping he’d fill the void left behind after Lorenzo Insigne’s move to Toronto FC. Kvaratskhelia has exceeded expectations, directly contributing to 21 goals across 20 appearances this campaign.

Speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, Moggi first revealed that he contacted De Laurentiis to congratulate him for his recent work with Napoli.

“After Friday I sent a message to De Laurentiis congratulating him on the victory, but above all on how he manages his club.”

The former Juventus director then gave his thoughts on Kvaratskhelia and his market value now.

“It’s always obnoxious to give values to players, because he’s as strong as the ones they sell. But he is obviously worth more than €100m.

“Because if Lukaku cost that much, and he can’t stop a ball, then those who have technique must be worth more.”

Since his arrival in Campania, Kvaratskhelia has scored nine goals and provided 12 assists across Serie A and the Champions League.

Napoli currently seem on track to win their first Scudetto since the days of Diego Maradona, sitting nine points clear of second place Milan in the Serie A table.
