There are mixed reports on Milan contacts with Julen Lopetegui, as it is suggested he is above all being proposed to the club by agent Jorge Mendes.
It is widely believed that Stefano Pioli will be fired at the end of the season after crashing out of the Champions League, Europa League and Coppa Italia, never really being in the Scudetto race.
Multiple options have been mentioned in the media to replace him, including Paulo Fonseca of Lille, Sergio Conceicao, Christophe Galtier, Marcelo Gallardo and Mark van Bommel.
Lopetegui intrigue
One of the names circulating for the longest was Lopetegui, who is currently a free agent after experiences at Sevilla, Spain and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
According to Matteo Moretto and La Gazzetta dello Sport, there is significant interest in Lopetegui and contact with his entourage over the last couple of days.
However, MilanPress insist that it is the other way around, claiming that his agent Jorge Mendes has been pushing Lopetegui towards the Milan directors.
