Mitrovic did not want to be second pick and appears to have chosen Newcastle United instead.
“The formalisation of the transfer will be made in the coming hours,” agent Pini Zahavi was quoted as telling Metro newspaper.
”Mitrovic will sign a contract for five seasons for the former club of Philippe Albert.”
The Magpies are believed to be paying £12.9m for the forward who scored 27 goals in 53 games for Anderlecht.
