Colombian international striker Luis Muriel says he achieved what he was hoping to with Udinese this season.

Despite an injury-affected campaign which limited him to just 22 League games, he’s pleased with his efforts.

“Scoring 10 goals was the objective and I got 11, that is very satisfying,” he told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I managed to achieve two targets, seeing as the other was to help Udinese qualify for next season’s Europa League.”

The 22-year-old is one of the club’s most wanted players, but he insists he isn’t thinking about a transfer for now.

“I want to grow and improve as a player,” he added. “I want to stay in Udine for another couple of years.

“I have learnt so much here from boss Francesco Guidolin who helped me during my moments of difficulty.”

Muriel and Antonio Di Natale struck up one of Serie A’s most feared striking partnerships this term seeing as the veteran netted 23 times.

“The partnership has gone well and Toto has taught me a lot. He tells me a lot of things out there on the pitch.”
