Parma have shot down claims that Inter are lining up a move for goalkeeper Antonio Mirante.

Reports suggested that the Nerazzurri were looking at the Italian as a possible back-up to Julio Cesar in the new campaign.

"Mirante is one of Parma's main strengths," Tardini official Pietro Leonardi told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"These rumours are incomprehensible and absurd. I wouldn't want these reports to be a tactic to break the good atmosphere that is being built at the club.

"I haven't spoken to anyone from Inter for over a month. I really don't know what else to say to deny these ridiculous claims."

The 28-year-old former Juventus goalkeeper joined Parma in 2009 after two seasons at Sampdoria.

He broke into the Italian national squad last term, but he hasn't been capped yet by the Azzurri.
