The defender is not yet the captain of his club, as Mauro Icardi has that honour, but seemed to speak as if he was.

“I feel the responsibility of my role as a leader at Inter and this responsibility must be transformed on the field into the search for victory,” Miranda told Inter Channel.

He scored in their World Cup qualifier against Colombia, but the armband was passed on to Dani Alves, as it is being rotated around the squad.

“This year I hope to score at least five goals! I celebrated my birthday and we won, so I am very happy. Now I have returned to Italy and want to celebrate again with another victory on Sunday.”
