Atalanta United are now working on finalising a deal for Aleksey Miranchuk after the Atalanta forward gave the green light for a move.

The 28-year-old Russian forward has been heavily linked with a move to a number of MLS clubs this summer, with DC United emerging first before Atlanta came forward to progress in talks with la Dea, who are open to a sale.

Miranchuk, who has two years left on his contract in Bergamo, was initially unconvinced about the idea of moving to the MLS, happy playing under Gian Piero Gasperini at Atalanta. Last season, he scored four goals and provided 12 assists across 42 matches.

Gianluca Di Marzio details how Miranchuk has now resolved his doubts and agreed to make a move to Atlanta, ready for a new adventure in the MLS. Work is now ongoing with Atalanta to finalise a deal within the next 48 hours.

Across his four years tied to la Dea, the 28-year-old scored 13 goals and provided 19 assists across 98 matches, helping the club win the Europa League last season.
