Mirabelli spoke to Quotidiano del Sud newspaper about the new experience at San Siro.

“I met (Milan CEO) Fassone at Inter and we immediately got along well. We had long daily conversations on promising players and other issues. When he was sent away from Inter, he immediately said: I’ll take you wherever I go. That proved to be the case.

Milan director of sport Massimiliano Mirabelli commented on their massive transfer strategy, Marco Fassone and “small man” Mino Raiola.

“I think working with Fassone is a pleasure because he’s not just a human, he’s an extra-terrestrial.

“Chinese club owners have clear ideas. They always stick to their path and don’t respond to any provocation or bum note in the media. They prefer to just get results.

“Their ambition is to take Milan back on top of the world within five years. We told them straight away that would not be easy, but we are Milan and have the duty to try.”

It was a successful summer for the Rossoneri with over €230m spent on new players, but the worst tension was over Gianluigi Donnarumma’s contract renewal with agent Raiola.

The representative famously said he would not speak to Mirabelli in particular, accusing him of being a bully.

“From a giant of the transfer market, with that phrase Raiola became a small man for me. It was not easy to begin with the Donnarumma situation, but we came out of it really well.

“My dream is to soon give the Milan fans that Champions League theme tune. That is my greatest dream right now.”
