Diego Milito has dedicated his goal against Lecce to the Inter fans after he returned to the Serie A scoresheet.

The Argentine netted in last night’s 4-1 win, his first League goal since the game against Bologna on 24 September.

“I want to thank the fans because they have always stood by me – this goal is for them,” stated the former Genoa man.

“I wasn't worried. Obviously I missed scoring, but you get spells like that in football. Hopefully we'll be able to carry on like this now, showing consistency game after game.”

Milito’s struggles in the penalty area this term had increased speculation about his future at the Stadio Meazza.

He has subsequently been linked with a January move to numerous clubs, but he insists that he is going nowhere.

“I’m staying,” he added. “That’s for definite. I'm very happy here in Milan at Inter. I have no intention of leaving.

“I thank the club and President Massimo Moratti who have always supported me. I feel wanted. Thanks for that.”
