Sergej Milinkovic-Savic assures he wants to stay at Lazio ‘for many more years’ and considers himself ‘a leader’ in Maurizio Sarri’s team.

The Serbia international midfielder is always linked with a move to a bigger club, yet has never really seemed like leaving the Stadio Olimpico.

“I feel like a leader now, it is my sixth year here and I hope to stay for many more years,” Milinkovic-Savic told Lazio Style Channel.

“I see the young players here and think about when I was in their place, so I try to help them the same way that the old guard helped me.”

Sarri has brought a very different approach to Lazio, both tactically and in training, after replacing Simone Inzaghi.

“They are intense training sessions, but I feel good,” continued Milinkovic-Savic.

“I missed all this. We’re working with the ball straight away, and something will certainly change because it’s going from 3-5-2 to 4-3-3.

“We’ll play the ball to feet a lot more and I can’t wait to get started.”

While Milinkovic-Savic is committed to the Lazio cause, the same cannot be said of Luis Alberto, as the midfielder has still not turned up to training after he was called up by the club.
