Milinkovic-Savic to snub Man United for Serie A stay?

According to Il Corriere dello Sport newspaper, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is determined to leave Lazio at the end of the season but would prefer to stay in Serie A over a move to the Premier League.

The 27-year-old is under contract at the Stadio Olimpico until 2024, but his agent Mateja Kezman has already informed the club that his client wants to leave in the summer. Juventus, Manchester United and PSG are closely monitoring the Serbia international whose brother Vanja plays for Torino.

On Monday night, Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri said that if Milinkovic-Savic leaves, he will likely move outside Serie A. However, according to Il Corriere dello Sport, the talented midfielder would prefer to remain in Italy.

His representative has already spoken to four or five Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, who are long time admirers of the 27-year-old.

Milinkovic was close to joining the Red Devils for €75m before they signed Bruno Fernandes from Sporting CP in 2019. Juventus have also monitored SMS for a long time but must deal with Claudio Lotito’s economic demands.

Lazio are prepared to see their star leave but want at least €50-60m. Juventus fans applauded the 27-year-old during Monday’s home clash against Lazio, but the Bianconeri are also in talks with Paul Pogba, who could return to Turin on a free transfer.
