Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has denied the rumours that he has fallen out with Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri.

The 26-year-old Serbian midfielder was the subject of much talk in the Italian press, who suggested that he had upset the 62-year-old Italian coach due to a poor attitude and aloof mindset, but the player has hit back at these claims.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Milinkovic-Savic was clear in his feelings regarding the rumours, noting that ‘I see lot of rumours about me but… I don’t care! I just want Lazio to win.’

The Serbian midfielder has been linked with Premier League side Manchester United recently but for now he will remain with Lazio, not leaving Rome in next month’s transfer window.

Milinkovic-Savic, who is contracted to the Biancocelesti until 2024, has been a core part of Sarri’s squad, appearing in all 19 league games so far this season. The Serbian midfielder has scored five goals and provided six assists in that time, adapting well to the 62-year-old coach’s attacking system.

  1. If they get a crazy offer for him, they should sell. Their squad needs to be strengthened elsewhere, and trimmed down of all the deadwood too.

  2. I dont think he would keep all for himself , it wouldn’t be tolerated and Now ego is high too, but it would take a strong offer to make him sell. Don’t forget pre covid he rejected 120mil from PSG. Now that’s not to say 85-90 mil wouldn’t be enough but anything under 80 is disrespectful. He kept growing, is versatile and such financially strong clubs like United, Liverpool or Chelsea (given they loose to injury a vital player or in Pogbas case ends his contract) will surely afford even more .

Personally I’d much prefer him to stay and someone else to be sacrificed for the necesarry funds to improve the squad and of course cutting “deadwood”, even more so Sergej himself loves the club and city.
