Sergej Milinkovic-Savic assures he has no intention of leaving Lazio, especially after they qualified for the Champions League. ‘I am happy here, I am staying.’

The midfielder contributed to the 2-1 victory over Cagliari with a scorching volley off the outside of the boot, before Ciro Immobile completed the comeback.

“My objective since the first day was to play in the Champions League with Lazio, now we finally achieved it,” the Serbian midfielder told Sky Sport Italia.

“I am happy here, my mind is focused on Lazio, I have a contract for many years and so… I am staying. My agent will think about the rest.”

The 25-year-old is under contract until June 2024 and has scored seven goals with seven assists in 40 competitive games this season.

Although Lazio have mathematically secured a top four position, there is still a lingering doubt about their Champions League status.

That’s because if Napoli should win the Champions League and Roma the Europa League, both those teams would be awarded a place in the Champions League for next season.

In turn, due to the UEFA limits on five teams in the tournament from any one country, fourth place would drop into the Europa League.
