Sergej Milinkovic-Savic recognises Lazio ‘finally played a great game’ to beat Roma 3-2 in the derby, so this can boost their confidence going forward.
It was a dramatic Derby della Capitale, with the Aquile running out 3-2 winners thanks to Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Pedro and Felipe Anderson.
“We really needed our fans, they came in numbers and we gave them a wonderful game, so they can celebrate and go home happy,” the Serbia international told DAZN.
“We finally played a great game, much better than the previous performances. We needed a victory in the derby to go forward with a different feeling and confidence.
“I scored many important goals, but it’s my third in the derby and I will try to score more in future too.”
Roger Ibanez and a very controversial Jordan Veretout penalty made it a tense finale at the Stadio Olimpico.
“We need to improve a great deal, as we score one or two goals, lose our hunger and the other team gets back into it. We have to really work on keeping that consistency.”
Advantage Lazio in the Rome Derby! 💪
