Milik nets as Napoli conquer Berlin

Arkadiusz Milik scored his debut goal for Napoli and provided an assist in an impressive 4-1 friendly victory away to Hertha Berlin.

The Partenopei took a while to get going in Germany and Pepe Reina was tested on his comeback after an Allan error, but Vedad Ibisevic did eventually make the most of a Faouzi Ghoulam mistake to score.

Napoli fought back and within 12 minutes had equalised through a sensational Marek Hamsik back-heel flick on a corner, a move that had clearly been tested in training.

Maurizio Sarri introduced Poland internationals Piotr Zielinski and Milik for the second half, and the team seemed to be in another gear.

Jose Callejon just failed to finish a Hamsik assist, then scored moments later by controlling a long Mirko Valdifiori pass and spinning in the shot.

Dries Mertens tested the Hertha shot-stopper a couple of times, then provided the assist for Milik’s historic first Napoli goal, toe-poking past the on-rushing goalkeeper.

The pair exchanged places for the fourth goal, as Milik’s through ball sent Mertens through to score with a sensational lob.
