Milik negotiating Napoli exit

Arkadiusz Milik’s agents met with Napoli to discuss the exit strategy for January, with a sale abroad seemingly the most likely option.

The striker will be out of contract in June 2021 and refused to sign a new deal, so was put on the market over the summer.

A move to Roma had been imminent, but fell apart at the last minute, and he was frozen out of the Napoli squad for this season.

A move to Roma had been imminent, but fell apart at the last minute, and he was frozen out of the Napoli squad for this season.

Calciomercato.com report that Milik’s agents met with the Partenopei at the Castel Volturno training ground on Friday to work out a joint strategy going forward.

The Poland international confirmed he is prepared to accept a transfer in January rather than sit out the entire season and leave as a free agent next summer.

The most likely option remains a transfer abroad, as Roma already picked up Borja Mayoral as well as keeping Edin Dzeko, while Juventus went for Alvaro Morata.

Tottenham Hotspur had been the club most interested in Milik’s services and could make another approach mid-season, while Atletico Madrid are another candidate.
