Olympique Marseille President Pablo Longoria said former Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik wants to remain with the Ligue 1 side.

Milik moved to Marseille last winter, after he was frozen out at Napoli and reported transfers to Juventus and Roma failed to materialise.

Milik has scored five goals in 11 Ligue 1 games and Marseille have an option to buy with conditions in the loan deal with the Partenopei.

Rumours have emerged that the Poland international could move to one of the European giants already this summer, but the President believes he will remain at Marseille.

“I can’t take a categorical position on this. We are in control of the situation regarding Milik and the transfer market,” he said at press conference.

“We have a loan deal with an option to buy, with payments to be made if we pay, the player will be of OM.

“Milik always says he’s happy here and we have never talked about releasing him in the event of an offer from a big club.

“The player’s intention is to extend his contract with Marseille.”

Marseille are currently sixth in Ligue 1, fighting for a place in the Europa League next term.
