“It was a strange year due to the pandemic,” Milik told Sportowefakty.pl. “Our performances weren’t the best, since we finished seventh.

“We went through a very difficult moment, also due to the change of coach. Then there was the break due to the coronavirus.

“But the season ended in good style and I won the first trophy in my career.”

The Poland international seemed set for a move to Juventus ahead of the new season, but a move faded, as did proposed opportunities to join Roma, Tottenham and Fiorentina.

The 26-year-old said he keeps on training individually and waits for the transfer market to reopen.

“Now, I’ll wait for the next transfer window and I hope the clubs can find and understanding,” Milik admitted. “Physically I’m fine, I have trained well individually

“I will play matches with the national side. In three months, my form won’t be too much affected.”
